The FFAW has opened the election process for its Inshore Council—the primary consultative body for the fishing side of the union.
The council meets twice a year and members are expected to bring the concerns of harvesters to the union and convey the work being done by the union to its members.
Enterprise owners, and crew members, including women and young harvesters are welcome to participate.
Monday, February 7 is the last day on which to file nomination papers and the list of candidates will be finalized on February 28. Ballots will be mailed out in March and counted in April with the new council to be installed in the fall of 2022.
