A new survey released this morning by LifeWorks shows that just over a third of all Canadians surveyed believe that full work flexibility would be the best for many workers and their employer.
The survey of 3,000 Canadians, conducted online between December 3 and 14, shows that 38 per cent of those asked believe that having the option of being flexible on days, hours and location would be the best working model for their team. Twenty-nine per cent report that the most important type of flexibility is being able to step away from work to attend to personal issues. Seventeen per cent of respondents believe that all employees should work together at the worksite, and 15 per cent prefer that all employees work remotely.
Meanwhile, half of respondents believe that their organization’s CEO genuinely cares about employee well-being. Those respondents had a mental health score five points above the national average. The 18 per cent who do not believe the CEO of their organization cares about their well-being scored well below the mental health national average.
