There were 296 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in the province yesterday. Twenty people are in hospital—five of whom are in critical care.

There have been 277 new recoveries leaving 2,688 active cases of the virus in the province.

Of the latest reported cases, 219 are in the Eastern Health region, 30 are in Central, 38 in Western Health and nine in Labrador-Grenfell Health.

Meanwhile, a live COVID briefing is being held this afternoon.

The usual panel of Premier Andrew Furey, Health Minister John Haggie, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Fitzgerald will also be joined by Education Minister Tom Osborne.
