Two men have been charged following separate incidents at an NLC Liquor Store in the east end of St. John’s Saturday afternoon.
At around 2:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft in progress.
Liquor Control inspectors were on-site and had detained a 41-year-old man.
The man was not cooperative with police, providing a false name.
Once properly identified, it was discovered the man had seven outstanding warrants for his arrest.
In addition, he was charged with public mischief, theft and breaching court orders.
While police were still on-scene, inspectors apprehended another man for theft of liquor.
The 40-year-old was taken into custody, where it was learned he had three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
In addition, he was charged with theft and breaching court orders.
Both men were held to appear in court.
