While many students are returning to classes today at MUN, some will be staging a walkout in protest of the university’s decision to return to campus at this time.
The university continues to stand by its assertion that the return can be done safely. However, the decision remains controversial with many groups, including MUNSU, calling for more flexibility and supports for students and staff who do not feel safe returning to campus.
The MUN Students’ Union tweeted out its support for students and staff participating in the walkout. They say students deserve to access education without risking their health.
They are encouraging students to email MUN President Vianne Timmons, the Provost and CRO to share their concerns.
