Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting two more deaths due to COVID-19.
The 39th and 40th deaths are a man in the Eastern region and a woman in Central who were both over the age of 70.
Twenty-two people are now in hospital due to the virus, nine of whom are in critical care.
There are 183 new confirmed cases of the virus being reported in the province today; 103 in Eastern Health, 28 in Central, 20 in the Western region and 32 in Labrador-Grenfell.
There have also been 222 new recoveries, leaving 2,121 active cases in the province.
Meanwhile, the province will remain in Alert Level 4 for the time being, but some changes are on the way.
Those changes will come into effect on Monday, February 7th, the details of which will be announced at a live COVID briefing on Thursday.
