A 74-year-old man has been seriously injured following a snowmobile crash near North West Pond in Indian Bay on Wednesday.
RCMP were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m.
They say the operator was riding up a hill when the machine spun out on some ice and tumbled back down the hill.
The man, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was transported to hospital for urgent medical attention, and is in the Health Sciences at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
The RCMP is reminding that while helmets are not mandatory at this time for snowmobilers, they are highly recommended.
