The CAA calls Sunwing’s decision to cancel direct flights from St. John’s this spring “unfortunate.”
The destination carrier has cancelled direct flights from YYT to sunny destinations like Cuba and the Dominican Republic for March through to May.
CAA’s Steve Olmstead says that will come as a great disappointment for many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians seeking that much-needed getaway.
He says the carrier has also cancelled direct flights from PEI and New Brunswick, and other airlines are making amendments to their routes, something that will prove an inconvenience and disappointment to travelers who had alread booked their trips, or are planning a vacation down south.
Olmstead is encouraging affected travelers to check with a trusted travel advisor for alternatives.
