Opposition Health critic Paul Dinn says while the deal reached with the NLMA is positive, countless healthcare issues remain.
Dinn says the good news is that government can start its recruitment and retention program, instead of “antagonizing” doctors in the media.
He says the issue of doctor shortages in the province is only getting worse, pointing to recent word that the medical centre in Bishop’s Falls is closing with the retirement of the town’s only doctor.
He says that story is only too common in Newfoundland and Labrador.
