A 73-year woman in Corner Brook sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being attacked by an untethered dog on Friday.
Officers were called to an animal complaint in the Broadway area, where they found the injured woman. She was transported to hospital, where she was subsequently treated and released.
The dog has been placed in quarantine.
Its owner has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation.
