Police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for the man they believe is responsible for a killing on a trail near Waterford Valley high school last year.
The body of 68-year-old Michael King of St. John’s was found between the school and the Waterford Hospital around 8:30 on the evening of Sunday, May 30th.
An extensive criminal investigation was launched and has resulted in an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Sheldon Hibbs on a charge of second-degree murder.
The RNC say Hibbs was most recently known to be in Alberta. He has a number of prominent tattoos, including a butterfly on his left hand, a switchblade on his right jaw, roses on his throat, and the phrase ‘Truth Hurts’ above his right eye.
Police are advising the public not to approach Hibbs, and to contact the RNC (729-8000) or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477) with any information as to his whereabouts.
