Corner Brook city council has denied a motion to continue providing fire services to Humber Valley Resort.
The tie vote took place at last night’s Committee of the Whole meeting in Corner Brook. The motion called for the city to approve an agreement to provide emergency fire services to Humber Valley Resort for an annual Standby Allocation Fee plus applicable response charges until the end of 2024.
Councillor Charles Pender excused himself from the vote for conflict purposes, resulting in a tie vote among the remaining councillors. That means the motion has been denied.
