A man taken to hospital for mental health medical attention is facing charges following a tense situation which recently unfolded in Cormack.
Deer Lake RCMP were called to a home in the town late Saturday night following reports of an assault and disturbance.
Police were able to establish communication with the suspect and he was taken into custody without incident and sent for mental health treatment.
A number of weapons were removed from the home including two shotguns, a hunting bow, and a high-powered rifle with loaded magazine and ammunition.
The suspect who remains in medical care, is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on a number of criminal charges including assault, damage to property, unauthorized possession of firearms and unsafe storage of firearms.
