Another man known to many who frequented the capital city’s downtown has passed away.
Harry Brait of Hopedale was a fixture outside the old Brass Rack on Duckworth Street. He was found dead in the area of the War Memorial yesterday.
Brait was an Inuk sculptor whose work sold at local galleries, and despite numerous offers of assistance, he often declined, preferring his spot outdoors on the east end of Duckworth Street.
Tony Ploughman of Fred’s Records, who got to know Harry over the years, posted a moving tribute to Brait yesterday after learning of the news.
