Pet lovers may have noticed some difficulties in recent months getting certain brands of cat food.
While an inconvenience to some, it can be a real problem for animal shelters.
The manager of the Baccalieu Trail SPCA in Spaniard’s Bay, Nicole Bussey , says the biggest problem for them is finding kitten food which appears to be in short supply.
Fortunately, their supporters have stepped up in a big way.
She says what can’t be found on local store shelves is being ordered by SPCA supporters online and shipped straight to the shelter.
Bussey says there might be a number of factors contributing to the shortage, but she can’t say for sure what they may be.
