An incident involving a fleeing vehicle which began in Conception Bay South in the afternoon ended about five hours later in the east end of St. John’s with the arrest of a teenager.
The RNC tried to pull over a vehicle just before 4:30 p.m. on Peacekeepers Way but the driver took off at a high rate of speed. Officers abandoned the pursuit. Then just before 9:30 last night, the same vehicle was involved in an accident on Signal Hill Road. The driver fled on foot but officers responded quickly and caught up with the 16-year-old suspect.
He has been charged with numerous offenses including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and breach of a court order.
He will appear in court today.
