The Rooms has been gifted with the largest number of artworks ever donated to its provincial collection.
Newfoundland artist and master lithographer, Bill Ritchie has gifted The Rooms with works that represent the work of artists and master printmakers who helped establish Kinngait Studios—founded in what was formerly known as Cape Dorset in Nunavut.
Kinngait Studios is the longest-running print studio in Canada and has been at the forefront of contemporary Inuit art for more than 60 years.
More than 70 of the pieces donated to The Rooms will be featured in an exhibition now open. “Helping Hands: 30 Years at Kinngait Studios” will be open until Sunday, June 5.
