The Opposition is urging the provincial government to take action on rising gas prices “before it’s too late.”
There are indications that gas prices could continue to soar, with market reaction to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Opposition Finance critic Tony Wakeham says the price of gas continues to climb, and the subsequent impact on food and other goods is having a direct impact on Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, particularly those on fixed incomes.
He calls government’s failure to listen “unacceptable”.
Wakeham is calling on Finance Minister Siobhan Coady to make a commitment to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador to stop skyrocketing gas prices before gas costs two dollars or more per litre.
