The provincial government is flying the Ukrainian flag in support of the country and in condemnation of Russia’s attack.
Premier Andrew Furey tweeted out a picture of the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag flying outside Confederation Building yesterday.
Newfoundland and Labrador is one of a growing number of municipal, provincial and state governments raising the Ukrainian flag in an act of solidarity.
Furey says Confederation Building will also be bathed in blue and yellow lights.
In addition, Government House is also lit in Ukrainian colours, with Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote saying “We think of them and their families who live in NL and throughout Canada.”

GH lit blue & yellow, colours of the Ukrainian flag, as one way of showing support for the people of Ukraine who are experiencing unspeakable hostilities by Russia. We think of them, & their family in NL & throughout CA as we watch in horror what is unfolding in #Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/SaErjrkd2W
