Rugby Sevens will be among 18 sports featured at the Canada Summer Games set for Ontario’s Niagra region in August, and Team NL has been training a the High-Performance Unit at the NL Sports Centre in preparation.
This marks the first time women’s rugby will be played at the games. Interest in Rugby Sevens has exploded in recent years, due in part to the success of the national Canadian women’s team winning Bronze at the Rio Olympics.
The NL Rugby Union has announced the members of Team Newfoundland and Labrador’s Training Squad with further selections of the ten players travelling to the Canada Games to be made in late spring.
