A man facing almost 130 charges linked to the buying and selling of illegal guns and other weapons on the Northeast Avalon had his case called in provincial court this morning.
41-year-old Scott Waterman is so far the only person arrested in what the RNC has said is the largest gun trafficking operation they’ve ever seen in the province.
Almost 100 items — including more than 80 different types of guns, as well as 3D printers used to make them — were seized from several homes in the Torbay and Pouch Cove area last month.
Waterman has been denied bail and is in the process of being transferred from Her Majesty’s Penitentiary to the correctional centre in Stephenville.
The court was told today that a new Crown attorney has been assigned to the case, and is still reviewing the mounds of disclosure.
The matter is scheduled back in court on March 23rd.
