One of the biggest curling competitions in North America begins on Friday and Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue is adjusting to the quick turnaround.
Gushue is just back from the Beijing Winter Olympics where he and his rink came away with a bronze medal.
He and his team members attended a welcoming celebration at Confederation Building this morning and are leaving for Alberta tomorrow.

When Gushue arrived at YYT from Beijing he indicated that the biggest challenge was to recover from the jet lag. He admits preparing for the Brier has been challenging as a result, but he’s as ready as he can be.
He told reporters they’re still a little tired, but says playing on the ice is their comfort zone.
