The MHA for Torngat Mountains is raising more questions about the delivery of health care services on the coast of Labrador after a 90 year old man in Postville fell and waited an extended period for a medevac to hospital in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Lela Evans says the man was finally medevaced out of the community after breaking his nose and suffering other injuries in the fall but as of Thursday morning was still lying on a stretcher in hospital awaiting a bed.
Evans says getting answers on availability of services on the coast and other health care challenges facing local residents is difficult.
She says the biggest problem is not knowing the state the local health care system is in.
Evans wrote a letter to Labrador-Grenfell Health President and CEO, Heather Brown outlining her concerns.
