As long as everything remains stable, mandatory masking, distancing, capacity limits, and the VaxPass system will fall by the wayside as of March 14th. However, there will be some elements of the pandemic that will remain for quite a while yet.
According to Health Minister John Haggie, one such thing will be the specialized COVID testing sites that were set up over the last two years.
He says during that time those clinics have been built up and scaled back as demand warranted, but only time will tell how fast those clinics can be completely removed.
He thinks that in the future COVID tests will be something a physician arranges based on need or symptoms. In the immediate future, he thinks there will be fewer sites open for shorter periods as demand winds down, and they may be one of the last signs of the pandemic to fade.
