A Past President of Golf NL has been named the co-recipient of Golf Canada’s Bruce Mitchell Volunteer of the Year Award for his achievements.
Ken Casey’s interest in golf dates back to his childhood when he participated in Bally Haly’s junior program at the tender age of 12.
In the late 1980s Casey was elected to serve on the golf committee and was later elected to the role of Golf Captain. In 1990 he assembled a group of volunteers to organize the Bally Haly Men’s Invitational and after more than 30 years, continues to draw golfers from all over the province.
He was elected as president of the NL Golf Association in 1994 and in 2014 was approached to serve on the board of the directors of Golf NL.
