RCMP have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a Spaniard’s Bay man who is facing a list of criminal charges as a result.
Burin Peninsula RCMP recovered the stolen Hyundai Elantra on Thursday, March 3rd, after an off-duty officer was informed of a gas and dash in Fortune.

Darren Dyke of Spaniard’s Bay, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was arrested for possession of stolen property.
A subsequent search of the car revealed a number of items including wallets and cell phones which were also believed to be stolen.
43-year-old Dyke is facing a number of charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 dollars, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5000 dollars, theft under $5000 (for the theft of gas) assaulting a police officer, and two breaches of court orders.
