A local anti-poverty advocate says residents need to demand better from government officials when it comes to a just transition away from fossil fuels.
Dan Meades says the recent spike in fuel prices and the ongoing global situation means government needs to look very carefully at how the move away from fossil fuels is managed.
He says the transition away from fossil fuels is imminent, and how government manages that transition is key to making sure that vulnerable populations aren’t disproportionately affected.
