The city of St. John’s is reminding residents who own a residential or commercial property in a designated heritage area to apply for maintenance or conservation funding.
The city’s Heritage Financial Incentives Program was developed to help conserve heritage by helping property owners with funding grants.
Over $250,000 in grants have been awarded to 95 applicants wince the incentive program began in 2016.
Two grants are available.
Up to $1,000 is available toward 25 percent of the material or labour costs through the Heritage Maintenance Grant and up to $5,000 is available toward 25 per cent of the material or labour costs for the preservation, restoration or replacement of façade elements through the Heritage Conservation Grant.
