Traffic is now moving in both directions on Pitts Memorial Highway after utility wires were blown down in those high westerlies overnight.
Officials from Bell Aliant began working before 5:00 this morning to remove the wires. The eastbound and westbound lanes have reopened.
Winds were gusting to over 100 km/h overnight but have since dropped back to 70 or 80 and will decrease further this afternoon.
