A concert held in Stephenville over the weekend has raised $12,000 in support of Ukrainian refugees coming to the province.
Hosted by the West Coast Supports Ukraine group, donations were accepted by E-transfer during the live stream of local talent.
Organizers said that some people trying to donate couldn’t due to outages cause by the weekend’s weather, so they are still accepting E-transfers via songsforsupport@gmail.com.
100 per cent of proceeds are staying in the community in support of refugees who come to the province. The Town of Stephenville matched all donations made.
A second night of music to support the cause is coming up this Thursday through the West Coast Supports Ukraine Facebook page.
