The Standing Committee on Public Accounts will hold public hearings on the Auditor General’s recent report on mechanical issues affecting the provincial ferries the Legionnaire and the Veteran.

The Public Accounts Committee requested the report in 2018 to review the purchase of the vessels and address concerns surrounding mechanical problems that have plagued the vessels almost from the moment they entered service.

The report found that government mishandled the acquisition of the multi-million dollar vessels.

The public galleries of the House of Assembly will be open for the hearings. They are scheduled for the mornings of Monday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 22 in the House of Assembly Chamber.
