A 33-year old man is facing a litany of charges after a bizarre incident in downtown St. John’s Friday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. officers responded to a call of a male brandishing a weapon on New Gower Street.
On-scene, officers located the man on the hood of a passing vehicle that had stopped due to the commotion.
After a brief struggle, the man was taken into custody.
He was charged with resisting arrest, causing a disturbance, property damage, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of three court orders, and public mischief after providing a false name to police.
No one was injured in the incident, and the man was held to appear in court.
