The Sierra Club and a group of organizations opposed to the development of the Bay du Nord project are going to host a virtual briefing outlining their concerns.
Former federal NDP candidate and community advocate Amy Norman and Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Angela Carter, are among those scheduled to speak tomorrow, which is World Water Day.
Carter says the project poses significant climate and environmental risks and sidesteps the just transition from fossil fuels. She calls tomorrow’s news conference an opportunity to hear different perspectives that prioritize climate stability and a decarbonized energy future.
The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow, via Zoom.
