The city of St. John’s is moving towards making electric vehicle charging stations more accessible.
At today’s city council meeting, they will vote on whether to purchase 26 new charging stations, at a cost of $118,902, to be installed at both corporate and public sites.
If approved, the contract would be awarded to Services FLO Inc.
There was no open call for bids, but that’s because the project is being done through Pollution Probe’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Support Program—which has an exclusive partnership with the company.
Last week the province announced $1.9-million for more charging stations, as well as rebates for the purchase of such vehicles.
City council will vote on the matter today at 3 p.m.
