Premier Andrew Furey admits the Liberty Report outlining continued issues with the GE software on the Labrador-Island Link is a concern.
Muskrat Falls will not meet the commissioning objective of this spring and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro now has no idea when the Labrador-Island Link will be fully functional.
Furey says he remains hopeful the matter, which has delayed final commissioning indefinitely, can be resolved. He has faith in NL Hydro to get it addressed.
The province’s Consumer Advocate fears the project is still years away from completion.
Hydro says it will hold GE to account for the delays. The LIL has experienced several trips in the past few months while live-testing the software, including one that left 22,000 customers without power on December 11.
