Police say they have an idea of who’s responsible for the death of an elderly woman in St. John’s last week.
But they’re not naming the person, and it’s unclear if the suspect is in custody or still at large.
They do say they suspect and victim knew each other.
The 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead by paramedics after they were called to Mitchell Court in St. John’s shortly before 11 p.m. on March 16th.
Police categorized the death as suspicious at the time but now say, after consultation with the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, that it was a homicide.
They have not revealed a cause of death.
RNC say the investigation continues and they’re asking anyone with information in the case to contact them at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
