If you are exploring options of saving money on energy costs, helping the planet, and living off the grid, here’s an idea.
David Kannenberg of NL Off-Grid Solutions is holding a virtual information session later this month through the AC Hunter Library and will be answering questions on Getting Off-Grid.
He owns a property on the west coast which is not connected whatsoever, running on solar system and battery power, and a house in St. John’s which is on the grid, but which has solar panels
to feed energy back to the system.
Kannenberg says the rising cost of energy has resulted in greater interest in living with alternate means of fuel.
The cost of energy is not controllable by the consumer and the price of components for solar electric systems has come down due to the high demand and improved technology.
He says the payback time can be as little as one year.
The event takes place on March 31st at 7 p.m.
