An update is coming on two new long-term care facilities in central Newfoundland.
The opening of the two new 60-bed facilities – one in Gander and the other in Grand Falls-Windsor – had been delayed due to deficiencies discovered before the buildings, built through public-private partnerships, were handed over to government.
Health Minister John Haggie and Premier Andrew Furey will be part of events to mark the completion of the construction of the two new facilities.
The event in Gander will take place at the new long-term care home on Magee Road at 2:00 p.m. Monday, while the event in Grand Falls-Windsor will take place on Scott Avenue at 4:00.
Both announcements will be live-streamed by Central Health on Facebook.
