The Bowring Park Foundation has launched a new way to learn about the historic St. John’s park, and to experience what it calls “the park’s magic.”
An Explore Bowring Park mobile app, created by Battery Radio, is a GPS-based app that guides visitors around the park to various hot spots.
Each of those locations has a story to tell, and the app shares those stories about the park’s history and heritage, complete with sound effects that are relevant to the location and to the story.
The project was made possible through nearly $42,000 dollars in ACOA funding.
Chair of the Bowring Park Foundation, Sheri Wicks calls the app a fun and enlightening way to learn about the park’s 108-year history.
The Explore Bowring Park app is free to download on the Apple App or Google Play store, and is compatible with both Apple and Android devices.
