Team NL, comprised of bowlers from the metro region and the west coast, has won the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers Association Youth Challenge National Championship in Calgary. They went undefeated in the round-robin and prevailed through the championship round with 38 points to outpace Saskatchewan with 21 pts, Alberta with 19 and Northern Ontario with 18 points.
Team members Amy Harris and Vanessa Elliott-Lynch were named tournament all-stars with Elliott-Lynch winning the ladies’ scholarship with the highest ladies’ average of 242.
It’s only our second gold medal in the history of the event and NL is the first team to go undefeated since the inception of the Youth Challenge.
