Work on the Bishop’s Falls trestle gets underway today.
The $326,000 dollar project is expected to take about six weeks to complete and will extend the life span for another 25 years.
Rick Noseworthy of the Newfoundland T’Railway Council says while there’s never a good time to take such an important piece of infrastructure out of commission, this time of year is about as good a time as any.
He’s hoping that someone will come forward to help ferry machines around the site as needed.
Noseworthy says this is the only time of year when they see a sort of lull in snowmobile and ATV activity.
