The education system is putting a special emphasis on English as a second language resource as it prepares to welcome a greater number of immigrants and refugees to the province.
Newfoundland and Labrador is making efforts to welcome Ukrainians who choose to come here, which means that the school system needs to be ready to take on more students who may need to learn the language.
Education Minister Tom Osborne says the province has already been adding resources to the local school system.
The province has hired additional student assistants and teaching resources over the last year as well as putting a greater focus on English as a second language resources.
