Taxi rates may soon be going up in the City of Corner Brook.
Councillor Bill Griffin presented a notice of motion regarding fee rate increases at yesterday’s city council meeting.
At the heart of the issue is the price of fuel.
Some local cab companies have approached the city asking that they allow a fuel surcharge of $2 when the price of gas in the area exceeds $1.65 per litre.
The matter will be brought up for debate and a vote at the next council meeting in two weeks on April 11.
