Newfoundland and Labrador has the second highest rate of new COVID-19 cases of those reported in Canada, according to limited available data.
Numbers released by Health Canada on their “Current Situation” map shows that Newfoundland and Labrador had the second-highest rate of daily cases per 100,000 people with 539 over the past week, behind only the Territories at 1,330.
For comparison, the rate in Ontario was 105, with Quebec at 159.
Data from the Maritime provinces, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Nunavut is not currently available.
