The College of the North Atlantic has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with Habitat for Humanity NL in an effort to expand construction projects and services across the province.
Sandra Whiffen, Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity, says the need for affordable housing is more prevalent than ever in Newfoundland and Labrador. She says the opportunity to avail of the many disciplines and technical abilities through CNA is “beneficial to all.”
The agreement will see CNA Teams take builds from the planning and design stages to the use of materials and construction, while also assisting with community and fundraising events.
CNA says combined, the deal means Habitat for Humanity will receive much-needed help to further its presence throughout the province, while CNA’s students and grads will have an enhanced learning experience.
