One person has been sent to hospital, and several others displaced by what’s being described as a “serious” fire in downtown St. John’s.
Crews first arrived on the scene on Coronation Street just after 11 p.m. last night.
According to Platoon Chief Gerry O’Neil with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, one house was damaged by the flames while two others received smoke damage.
He says one person was taken to hospital, though the extent of injuries is unknown.
According to O’Neil, between 5 and 6 people were displaced by the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
