Heritage NL has announced an updated funding program to help with the maintenance of registered heritage structures.
There are over 360 designated properties across the province and Heritage NL is hoping that the funding will help in preventing deferred maintenance, which Chair Dr. Lisa Daley says puts those structures at risk of permanent damage or loss.
Executive Director Dale Jarvis says the cost-shared grant of $3,000 dollars will help property owners by off-setting some of the additional costs associated with traditional building materials.
That includes things like the use of wooden clapboard and fixing windows instead of replacing them.
Applications can be found at the Heritage NL website.
