A 30-year-old man is facing multiple weapons charges following a traffic stop in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday night.
Police stopped a pickup truck on Union Street at about 8 p.m. and found a shotgun, without a trigger lock, between the driver’s seat and centre console. At the same time, a passenger in the truck attempted to hide under a blanket in the back seat. RCMP determined that Justin Mills was under a court order not to have any contact with that person.
Mills was ultimately charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and breach of a release order.
The vehicle was seized and impounded, while Mills was held to appear in court.
