The province is indicating it is open to discussing a single time zone for all of Newfoundland and Labrador.
A large portion of Labrador is on Atlantic time, separate from the extra half hour Newfoundland has become famous for.
Independent MHA Perry Trimper questioned in the House of Assembly whether the provincial government had given any more thought to staying with a single time year-round.
He also questioned whether or not the province would consider a single time zone across the entire province.
Municipal Affairs Minister Krista-Lynn Howell indicates it is something they’re open to discussing.
