Two-time Paralympic medalist Liam Hickey was welcomed at Confederation Building today as Premier Andrew Furey hosted an event to congratulate the award-winning para hockey player on his recent silver medal at the Beijing Paralympic Winter Games.
Furey greeted Hickey and, like a star-stuck sports fan, put on the athlete’s silver medal and World Championship ring.
What an honour to welcome two-time Paralympic medalist @lhickey23 today. He makes us all proud by never giving up and fighting to be the best. Congratulations to Liam and his team for winning ??in para hockey in Beijing. Thanks for letting me try on your World Championship ring! pic.twitter.com/2u7bwgZCva
